The Hakkoda Ropeway allows visitors to enjoy the magnificent nature of the Hakkoda mountain range. The ropeway connects the top of the mountain to the station at the foot of the hill, a distance of approximately 2.5 km. Visitors can enjoy various spectacular views in spring, summer, fall, and winter each season.

The best time to see is mid-May for fresh green leaves, August for summer skiing, late September to mid-October for autumn leaves, late November to mid-May for winter skiing, and January to late February for juhyō (樹氷). Each season brings many tourists to the area for high moorland and alpine plant watching, trekking, foliage viewing, skiing, and juhyo-wonching.

Weather permitting, visitors can enjoy views of Aomori city center, Mutsu Bay, Tsugaru Peninsula, Shimokita Peninsula, and Mt. Iwaki.
