Nebuta House Wa Rasse is a cultural and tourist exchange facility located near Aomori Station in Aomori City. It is a dream space that introduces the history and charm of the Nebuta Festival in all its glory and allows visitors to experience all Nebuta has to offer.

The Aomori Nebuta Festival is one of the three major festivals in the Tohoku region, held annually from August 2 to 7. It is designated as an Important Intangible Folk Cultural Asset of Japan. Following the floats called “Ningyo Nebuta,” dancers called “Haneto” dance around, shouting “rassera, rassera” (rassera, rassera). An amusing feature of the Nebuta Festival is that even if you do not belong to a group, as long as you wear haneto costumes and follow the rules, you can jump in from the roadside to join in the dancing.

Facilities include the Nebuta Museum, where visitors can see, touch, and enjoy the history of Nebuta, as well as a souvenir store, restaurant, and café. At the Nebuta Museum, visitors can learn about the origins of the Nebuta Festival, how it has spun its way up to the present day, and why the festival is held in the first place. Visitors can also experience Nebuta through the musical performance, haneto experience, and musical performance held four times a day.
