“chicori” is a store in Hirosaki City, Aomori Prefecture, specializing in brass nameplates and intercom covers.

Initially a clothing store, the owner, Mr. Kasai’s design experience was utilized to change the store’s business format to manufacture and sell brass products. Brass is famous as a material that has developed a beautiful patina over time and is used to carve the history of families and homes. The store has been remodeled as a showroom and atelier displaying nameplates and intercom covers, providing local customers with a place to directly experience the appeal of these products. The nameplates are custom-made, with family names and logos hand-designed to offer a unique item. Kasai says, “They can be used for a long time as a lifelong product,” and continues to share their charm with visitors!
