Owani Onsen Hot-Spring Village
Owani Onsen is a hot spring resort located in Owani-machi, Minamitsugaru-gun, Aomori Prefecture, with a history of over 800 years.
This hot spring was discovered in the late Heian period (794-1185) and was used as a therapeutic bath by the feudal lord Tsugaru during the Edo period (1603-1868). The spring is a chloride-sulfate spring and is said to be effective for neuralgia, sensitivity to cold, and gastrointestinal diseases.
