Tsugaru Clan Neputa Village

Hirosaki-shi FESTIVAL CRAFTS LOCAL ACTIVITY

Tsugaru-han Neputa-mura is a tourist facility in Hirosaki City where visitors can learn about and experience the culture and history of the Tsugaru region.

Inside the museum is a large exhibition of Hirosaki Neputa, a “Sangendo” where you can enjoy a live performance of Tsugaru shamisen, and a workshop where you can observe the production of traditional crafts. These allow you to experience the charm of Tsugaru through all five senses.

Visitors can try drumming to the Nebuta music at the end of the tour.
Visitors can also try making dove flutes, painting kokeshi dolls, making goldfish Neputas, and more.

The facility also has a restaurant where you can enjoy local cuisine using local ingredients and a sales corner selling Tsugaru-nuri (Tsugaru lacquerware), kogin sashimi, and Aomori’s agricultural products as souvenirs. In addition, there are areas where visitors can enjoy the scenery unique to the Tsugaru region, such as the Japanese garden “Youki-en,” where carp and ducks play, and the tea house “Youki-an,” offering a variety of experiences to visitors.
