Asamushi Aquarium
This is the northernmost comprehensive aquarium on Honshu Island, overlooking Aomori Bay. The aquarium is divided into sections for both cold and warm waters. It includes sea animals such as seals, fur seals, penguins, and dolphins.
There is also an extensive freshwater section. The first is a tropical freshwater fish section with large Arowanas and Redtail Catfish species. The second is a section of rare freshwater species from Aomori Prefecture. The “Suginoko,” a landlocked salmonid that lives upstream from the char, the Tohokusan salamander, and various species of frogs are also on display.
The “Aqua Manabi Umu: Great Earth for the Future” corner in the exhibition hall is also recommended. Visitors can learn about marine environmental issues and the SDGs under the following five themes: 1) management of marine resources, 2) marine plastic issues, 3) alien species issues, 4) biodiversity, and 5) SDGs.
Make unforgettable memories with your loved ones at this family-friendly spot, perfect for both small children and adults.
