Matsubadō Matsumura
Facing Nakamachi Komise Street in Kuroishi City, Matsubado Matsumura is a Japanese sweets shop with a history of over 100 years.
Its appearance is steeped in history and elegance.
A signboard commemorating the honor of being purchased by the Ministry of the Imperial Household when Emperor Taisho visited Kuroishi in 1915 remains. The “dried plum” is made by wrapping white bean paste in Gyuhi with Aomori shiso leaves soaked with plum pulp and sprinkled with white sugar for a refined taste. It is a well-known confectionary of Kuroishi and has been loved by the locals.
Indulge in the unique symphony of flavors that the ‘dried plum’ offers: the tangy notes of shiso, the savory touch of salted leaves, and the delicate sweetness of white bean paste. It’s a culinary experience that’s sure to leave you craving for more.
