BANKUM

Aomori-shi FOOD

Bankamu, aBankamu is a coffee shop near City Hall in Aomori City. Established in 1962, the café has a retro atmosphere that has been loved by locals for many years. The owner, Mr. Sato, is the second generation. The name “Bankamu” was taken from the Arabic words “ban” = beans” and “kamu” = liquid. The image of beans + liquid = coffee inspired the name.
The original blended coffee brewed by flannel drip and the handmade cake set are top-rated menu items. The store’s interior is a quiet, calm space where one can easily visit alone and relax.

Their menu also features a thoughtfully prepared selection of light meals. Their most famous item, the hot sandwich, comes in a variety of flavors, including ham, cheese, tuna, and Mexican. Your small happiness that might arise from the strawberry jam served with the cut-off bread ears and the freshness of the side vegetables all reflect their dedication to providing you with the best possible dining experience.
The pictures on the wall, the menu at the entrance, the door, and other details all contribute to the historical charm of Bankamu. This is the perfect spot to take a break from wandering around town, step back in time, or just unwind with a good book.
